In recognition of Pink October, Toyota Iraq organized a special awareness initiative for its female employees in Baghdad and Erbil. The event, held from October 23 to 27, 2025, focused on the importance of early detection of breast cancer and ways to prevent it. Jointly led by the Human Resources and Development Department and the Corporate Communications and Social Responsibility Department, the initiative reflected Toyota Iraq’s commitment to creating a workplace that supports both physical and mental well-being while embedding continuous awareness as part of its corporate culture.
Through its ongoing dedication to promoting health education and encouraging self-care among employees, Toyota Iraq continues to implement initiatives that place human safety and well-being at the heart of its mission. This reflects its role as a responsible and socially engaged company that seeks to build a more conscious and healthy society.
The initiative was inspired by Toyota Iraq’s firm belief that the well-being of employees, especially women, is a cornerstone of a balanced and productive work environment. The company turned this belief into action by supporting the United Nations’ third Sustainable Development Goal, “Good Health and Well-being.” It encouraged regular health checkups, open dialogue about women’s health, and greater awareness of health empowerment as an essential aspect of both personal and professional success.
The program included a variety of activities, ranging from medical guidance and personal testimonies to motivational discussions. In Baghdad, Dr. Nadia Mohammed Al-Lailo delivered a comprehensive lecture on early detection methods and the role of regular screenings in reducing advanced-stage cases, supported by global studies and statistics. In Erbil, Dr. Nariman Taha Mustafa offered similar insights tailored to local context. Nutrition coach and influencer Maryam Ghariba shared her experience of balancing self-care with the pressures of daily life, providing practical advice for maintaining fitness in simple and effective ways. The event concluded with a heartfelt story from breast cancer survivor Rowaa Rasheed, whose message of hope and resilience deeply moved everyone in attendance.
At the end of the event, Toyota Iraq expressed its appreciation to its female employees for their vital contributions to the company’s success. It also presented symbolic gifts to the guest speakers as a gesture of gratitude for their meaningful participation.
This initiative embodied Toyota Iraq’s sense of social responsibility and its ongoing commitment to supporting the health and well-being of its employees. The company continues to provide a safe and balanced workplace while launching awareness programs that empower women to care for themselves and those around them.
Toyota Iraq’s message remains clear: Awareness saves lives, and empowerment begins with self-care.
