Performance

1.6-liter 3-Cylinder Turbo Dynamic Force Engine (Sport)

By analyzing the engine usage range in WRC competitions, GR Yaris has achieved a highly responsive engine with power output that meets expectations in all situations. We were also able to improve output and torque by applying load until the pistons and other parts broke down and analyzing the engine's maximum performance.

Direct Automatic Transmission (GR-DAT)

This is a new model of automatic transmission that allows the driver to focus on steering, acceleration, and brakes without the distraction of having to shift gears manually, expanding the enjoyment of sports driving.

Suspension Tuning

The GR Yaris's meticulously tuned suspension delivers extremely agile handling under a wide range of conditions, from winding roads to racing circuits.

Braking System

The GR Yaris's braking system offers high rigidity and fade resistance, excellent heat dissipation and cooling, and a consistent braking force. The use of a drum-style parking brake also enables precise vehicle control.

Torsen LSD

Appropriate torque distribution to the left and right drive wheels during cornering improves traction performance, resulting in sharp and responsive acceleration out of corners.

Active Torque-Split 4WD System

By providing instant control of torque distribution to all four wheels in all road conditions and optimizing the torque applied to the front and rear wheels, the GR Yaris responds with sharper cornering and vehicle behavior that better reflects the driver's intent.

Lightweight Body

The hood, both doors, and the rear hatch are made from aluminum. The roof is made from C-SMC*, ensuring that the body is extremely lightweight with a low center of gravity.

Improved Aerodynamic Management

The lower part of the rear bumper has openings for air to vent through the bumper, which improves handling stability and dissipates heat more efficiently.

Improved Cooling Performance

The side lower grilles have air intakes to improve cooling performance, and outflowing air vents have been installed on the sides of the bumper to dissipate heat from the sub-radiator and automatic transmission fluid cooler.

Design

Exterior

The GR Yaris has a lower grille that is lighter and stronger with better cooling performance, and a divided front bumper that is easier to replace if damaged. Its design has been refined in order to win amidst the harsh environment of racing.

Interior

Toyota has worked with professional drivers to figure out what cockpit design is needed for motorsports. The information and controls are concentrated in front of the driver, and the center display is oriented toward the driver's seat. These and other space and layout-related improvements make it easier to focus on driving and to more fully enjoy the driving experience.

Technology

GR Full-Color TFT Gauge Display

These gauges are designed specifically for GR vehicles, with incorporated feedback from professional drivers. The tachometer and other gauges have been positioned on the upper part of the display. Engine coolant temperature can also be displayed.

8-Inch Display

The center of the instrument panel contains an 8-Inch display with audio and smartphone linking functions. It is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for connecting to smartphones.

Heated Leather Seats

All 4 seats are made of luxurious leather material, with the driver and front passenger seats equipped with heating.

Push Start Button

Start the engine with the press of a button. Toyota's keyless ignition technology enables remote locking, minimize road accidents, and help prevent car theft.

Linear Tail Lamp Assembly

The integrated tail lamp assembly provides better visibility for the vehicles behind and expresses the unique character of the GR Yaris at a glance.

Safety

Toyota Safety Sense

A comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistance technologies designed to support confident driving in all conditions. The system includes six SRS airbags, a Pre-Collision System (PCS), Emergency Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System (DRCC), Lane Departure Alert (LDA) with Emergency Steering Assist (daytime), Lane Trace Assist (LTA), and an Adaptive High-beam System (AHB) for enhanced visibility at night.

Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) With Expert Mode

The GR Yaris offers an Expert Mode that maximizes driver control by letting you apply your own driving skills on a racing circuit.

Back Monitor

Supports smooth reversing operations when perpendicular or parallel parking, showing the rear view taken by a camera integrated into the rear of the vehicle on the display.
